To chant or not to chant

Is it good for the group? One member says maybe not

For the first time in the 32 years that I’ve been sober, I found myself in an AA meeting where everyone was chiming in with the line, “God could and would if He were sought,” when “How It Works” was read. It felt funny to hear it said out loud by the entire group, in unison. I’d never been aware that we AAs did that, but I had no argument with the statement itself. I just thought it was hokey to chime in, but harmless enough.
