Sober Beetle

When I came into AA, I was blessed that my obsession to drink was removed by God at the exact same instant that I understood that I was an alcoholic. It happened as I was walking from kitchen into my dining room with a glass of alcohol in my hand. I was thinking that I would stop in several weeks. As I thought that, the question, "What are you waiting for?" popped into my head. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought, "OK. I am an alcoholic and I can't do this anymore." The last of the Promises came true for me right there. God did for me what I could not do for myself.
