Just when we think we’re right, the Concepts remind us what’s important

The essential ingredients to an informed group conscience are that all the relevant facts are present for discussion, that everyone has been given a full and fair hearing on the matter, and that we only act on serious matters when we reach substantial unanimity. Please notice, however, that the emphasis here is on the word informed. We can satisfy all these requirements, yet we still do not get a guarantee that we have reached a right decision. Majorities, as well as minorities, can be wrong. It is possible to be “fully informed” and “wrong.” Our co-founder Bill W. recognized this.
