A Prayer at Dinner

As the decade of the 1980s was coming to an end, so was I. My marriage was unraveling and my relationship with my kids was strained. I owed so much money, my health was deteriorating and I thought I was having a nervous breakdown. My wife was the main cause of my problems. I thought a good marriage counselor could teach her how to be a better wife. We had the big home and the fancy cars and went on trips to Europe, but finally I had to admit my drinking was the problem, and I came into AA. Gradually, my life began to improve.
