A new member struggles with his religious past as he considers Step Two
One Sunday, when I was 12, I told my brother I did not want to attend mass that particular day. He said, “The devil is gonna get you if you don’t go to church.” I laughed and replied, “The devil is my friend.” His reaction was to run to a nun and rat me out. She called me outside and grilled me about why I had said such a thing. She seemed a bit sad and disappointed.
