Just weeks into sobriety, she moved to a new town, on a street lined with bars, and found herself a phone call away from a relapse

I had not had a drink for three years when I came to Alcoholics Anonymous and therefore didn’t actually think I was an alcoholic. Yet my obsession with alcohol was beginning to frighten me. I didn’t want to drink, yet part of me felt like I had to drink. With an increasing sense of doom, I felt that the part of me that wanted to stay sober was going to lose the battle.
