What’s On Your Mind: It’s All Relative. Or Is It?

Putting one dollar in the basket may no longer be enough, suggests an AA who thinks we may need to rethink our attitude when it comes to our tradition of self-support

Shaking uncontrollably, frightened and hoping I would die rather than face one more moment of the mental and emotional hell I was in, it was balm for the body, mind and spirit when I arrived at my first meeting in 1976. I instantly felt at home among Steps and Traditions signs, plaques with sayings, steaming coffee pots and smiling drunks. Our AA program began changing me that June day and has continued, uninterrupted by the need for alcohol, ever since.
