Each Day, I Win

When it comes to not picking up a drink, we only have to count to one

Until recently, I never knew there was a category of AAs known as “day counters,” even though I’ve been one for many years. I counted my first day on Sept. 13, 1965, and have basically noted every day since. I have not had a drink since that first meeting and I don’t intend to change that. I was 24 years old and had tried quitting forever, which seemed like a long time. I had also tried to stop for a week, without any success.
