Strangers on a Train
This judge "invited" us to attend an AA meeting. He had just celebrated 15 years in the program
It was 1959 and I had a little more than two years of sobriety. My siblings had just put together a wedding anniversary celebration for our parents. They were living in California and I was in Oregon, so that meant in order to get there on time I'd have to fly. Now, flying is not one of my favorite modes of travel, but I decided to muster up the courage and do it anyway.
