As is often the case when it comes to AA lore, the origin of the The Coffee Cup hockey tournament has been the subject of a great deal of debate. There is no agreement on exactly who initiated the tournament or on what date the first game was played. There is some agreement, however, that the tournament started in the mid- to late-’70s.
