Beyond the Badge

After years of stress and alcohol abuse, she left the force, but not her dedication to service

By the time I was a junior in high school, I knew I was going to be a police officer. My sense of right and wrong had always been strong. I was the one who often stood between the bullies and the bullied. It was my calling to don the uniform, badge and gun.
