It was bad enough his sponsor volunteered him for coffee, but chairs and cleanup too?
When I first came into AA in 1990, I had a hard time saying I was an alcoholic. And because I was not brought up to express my feelings, I wondered how AA could work for me. From my first day, I complained to my sponsor, “Those AA people are nuts. They laugh at their disease.” He looked at me and said, “You will too, when you look back at what you did and share it at AA.”
