Good medicine

I’m sitting in a hospital emergency room with my sister. By now, it’s a somewhat routine experience for us. I can’t say our visit today is not serious because right now she is an organ recipient. She takes an assortment of medications that often build up in her blood and cause adverse effects. She has to wait hours sometimes before nurses examine her, run tests and contact her primary doctors. We then wait for them to communicate with one another. Knowing all this, I came prepared.
