Cuckoo for sobriety

A man finds his way into sobriety and discovers that the song of a once-treasured clock is a symbol for the hope AA brings to his life

My parents presented my wife and myself a cuckoo clock for Christmas in 1991. The clock, ornately hand carved, is made with wood from the Black Forest. We cherished the clock for years and put in a place of honor on the wall in our home. My mother had many clocks in her home and enjoyed telling the story behind each one. The clocks were the “watch keepers” in her home, ever vigilant.
