It isn’t your age that counts when you come into the program, it’s your willingness, as one older newcomer discovers
I recently attended a meeting where a mother introduced her alcoholic 13-year old daughter with just days of sobriety, but have also met young people with years in the program. I had the privilege of listening to an 84-year old gentleman tell his story, with 43 years of sober experience, while sitting next to a man of 71 years who had just stopped drinking the week before.
