Worth the wait

Stressed and lonely, she needed a meeting and almost gave up. Good thing she listened to her feet

Earlier this year, my boss gave me the opportunity to take a month-long course at a well-respected university in Boston. On top of feeling very out of my league at the university and missing my family and friends, it was challenging to get to AA meetings. I was in all-day sessions, six days a week, even during lunch. We also had study sessions at night that we were required to attend. I was pretty restless, irritable and discontent about being there, and I felt pangs of anxious apartness from my classmates, who were all “normal.”
