For 17 years, I drank and struggled with life on life’s terms. I spent my time thinking, and figuring. Thinking about what I needed to be happy, which always included a bottle, and figuring how to maintain my way of life, which included as little responsibility as possible and an unabashed willingness to ask others to take care of me.
