What’s sometimes confusing is why Alcoholics Anonymous worked for me when I should have been one of the losers. I remember sitting down one night with a pistol I had bought the day before I called AA. Then it’s a blank. Only another alcoholic could identify with getting so drunk that I forgot why I was sitting there with a pistol in my lap.
