A man trapped by alcoholism in his garage finds a life of purpose, guidance and love. It does work...

At midnight on October 5th, 1989, I was trapped in my garage, completely bound to the disease of alcoholism and addiction. This disease had been my existence for 30 years; it was the only life I knew. I was terrified, alone and everything seemed impossible. Crawling in that garage, crying for answers, I prayed to a God I had no relationship with or even felt existed. Sometime later that night, I made my way upstairs and was met by my then wife, who told me that she had made arrangements to have me picked up and sent to a hospital drug ward.
