Irma’s Aftermath

Seeking shelter from the storm, an alcoholic finds solace in an AA meeting whose theme is “Repairing the Damage”

At about 2:30 in the morning of September 11th, Hurricane Irma unleashed tropical storms over the central Florida region. Our house is made from cinder blocks, but just in case my husband and I had agreed on the laundry room as a safe place away from doors and windows. There seemed to be no need for it, since we had all slept through much of the  earlier raging winds.
