Twenty-two years ago, I had the honor of attending an Alcoholics Anonymous Roundup weekend in Upstate New York. This was my first introduction to AA, and I had looked forward to attending this convention. On Saturday afternoon there were speakers with what was called “Double Digit” sobriety. I was both interested and excited to hear what the speakers had to say that Saturday afternoon. They had 22 years to 25 years of sobriety, from what I can remember. When I heard the 22-year speaker, who was a woman, I was able to understand and identify with what she was sharing.
