Anniversaries

Celebrating his anniversary may make him uncomfortable, but his entire life is a celebration of the beauty of sobriety found through the AA Fellowship

My 25th A.A. Anniversary was, like most days, full of spiritual activity. In the morning I walked my dog out in the mesa, where I prayed and meditated, which is part of my quiet time. Arriving home I did my daily reading, which is reading the Big Book from cover to cover. That was the first AA assignment I was given. Generally, this is my New Year ritual, but I think I will make it my anniversary custom. In the afternoon, I had the privilege of delivering Big Books to a man taking AA meetings into a correctional facility on a reservation. Before attending an evening meeting, I met with a sponsee. At the meeting, the topic was on the importance of working with others. My day ended with some short reading and prayer. Every day I follow a similar pattern. Next week when I get paid, I will send $25.00 to New York as a thank-you for 25 years.
