How I “Got” A Sponsor
Her recipe for finding the right sponsor? Go to a meeting, find someone who looks like she really wants to be there—and just ask
After several weeks of not drinking and going to AA meetings every week, I kept hearing I should “get” a sponsor. I kept thinking, how do you do that? (Answer: You ask.) Likewise, it was suggested that I look into other meetings and branch out. So I looked in the meeting book for different kinds of meetings: speaker, Big Book, topic, all kinds to choose from.
