Finding the Path

She was young, partied hard, went to jail—but never stopped seeking the right path to God and sobriety

I started drinking in high school year 2006.I wasn't very popular. I was curvy and the other girls were sticks. The jocks always went for the skinny blonde and not the short curvy girl. I dressed differently. My wardrobe was mostly black because I felt dark, confused and lost at the time. My dad was out of the picture, being an alcoholic and user himself. My mom and I argued constantly. I started to hang out with a new crowd—older kids, college kids. I started drinking and doing drugs. I felt like I had something in common with my new older friends. We partied hard and I had a false sense of happiness and belonging.
