God Could If Sought
I was enrolled in catechism and confirmed, but finally my father told me that “I never had to go back to church again”. “I’ve graduated,” I thought to myself. I was so glad to not have to waste another weekend day going to Sunday School, where I half-heartedly paid attention to the stories of Jesus, Noah, Jonah, and the like, but didn’t really hear them. I was a reader at the altar in front of the church reciting one of the scenes of the Stations of the Cross, but I had no idea what I was actually taking part in. In fact, I was more of a class-clown there than I was at the public school I attended. Plus, their dances were far better than the ones at public school.
