A tragic death woke him to his reckless drinking. Now, with some hope, he’s on the right road

When I was younger, I used to feel like an outsider, different from everyone else. I’ve come to find out that I am no different than millions of AA members around the world. My circumstances may be different, but the feelings we share are all the same. I am an alcoholic. I am also serving a sentence in an upstate New York prison for a car crash that I caused while I was under the influence.
