August 2019 | African-American Alcoholics in AA

Letter from the Editor

Our book Alcoholics Anonymous makes it beautifully clear: “To us, the realm of the spirit is broad, roomy, all inclusive, never exclusive or forbidding to those who earnestly seek. It is open, we believe, to all men.” Are we doing enough to reach out to all alcoholics who need our help? Can we do better? The stories in this month’s special section feature powerful stories of experience, strength and hope from African-American AA members.
