The Desperate Wife
I received a call that really brought me down to earth. It was a call from a wife on behalf of her husband, who was a serious drinker.
Since January 2010, when I stared working on the AA helpline, all types of calls have come in asking various questions. Some are serious, such as “I want to die.” Some are just saying “Hello, I’m sober today” or “Hi, I am now three months sober.”
