My First Foreign Trip Sober

It wasn’t quite 90 meetings in 90 days around the world, but wherever this AA went, the warm embrace of Alcoholics Anonymous welcomed him

In the spring of 1983, after I had been sober for about eighteen months, my Al-Anon wife, my AA sponsor and I decided it was okay for my wife and I to visit the U.K. and Paris on vacation. Finding English speaking meetings in the U.K. would be no problem, of course, but I wasn’t so sure about Paris. Fortunately a few members of my home group in Northwestern New Jersey were pilots who flew regularly to Europe. One of them, Bill C., gave me a list of the English speaking meetings in Paris.
