When the writer of “What Kind of Cult Is This?” first came into AA, he heard people sharing and thought he didn’t belong. But luckily, his therapist suggested he try a different AA meeting. That seemed to help. At that meeting he identified, and got a sponsor and a Big Book. “The secret things I felt, thought and did were all in there,” he writes about the book. He hasn’t had a drink in 29 years.
