The answer to my prayer

My sponsor taught me to pray. He started me off with the simplest prayer: “Help.” He called it the intellectual’s prayer because I could say it and still reserve my right not to believe in God. I didn’t even have to use the word “God,” just that one essential word. He asked, since I thought of myself as an intellectual, if I thought I could memorize it. OK wise guy, I memorized it.
