Tucked away under old dog tags and love letters was a worn-looking list of names. Could it be? Yep, it sure was

A bove the bar in my parents’ house hangs a photo of the USS West Virginia, a warship that was rebuilt after World War II. The photo is black and white and was taken long before my father was even born. In the picture, the third person to the left on the second row is my grandfather. It was taken when he was a young, handsome midshipman standing proudly in front of the ship. To the left of the photo, sitting on the bar, is a picture of him during his Navy days.
