Zooming Into the Fourth Dimension

My husband Steve and I boarded a cruise ship on March 7, just as the COVID-19 virus was beginning to appear in the U.S. Probably ill-advised, we brazenly forged ahead, armed with disinfectant wipes and magical thinking. Any enjoyment we may have anticipated was marred by occasional news updates from home about the frenzied run on paper products and grim reports of an overwhelmed healthcare system. We erred on the side of caution and curtailed our activities about the ship and stayed close to our cabin. Whenever we pulled into a U.S. territory port-of-call, I could collect text updates from my sponsor, Brigitte, and sometimes even make phone calls.
