Welcome to Key West
He knew it was time to stop drinking. He had really reached the end. But first he’d fly to see his old drinking buddy for one last hurrah
It wasn’t cancerous, the doctor told me, adding that it would be if I didn’t stop smoking. As our conversation progressed, he asked how much I drank. I thought that was an odd question, considering we were talking about smoking. Then he added, “I’m asking because you don’t give a damn how much you smoke when you’re drunk.”
