The Magic and the Miracle

From the outside, anyone would look at my life and think: “Wow, she’s so lucky.” From the inside, I now know that the only thing that really matters is my spiritual health and whether I am working all three sides of the A.A. program—treating my mind, body, and spirit. Even though I have eight years of sobriety, I am highly aware that I still have the disease of alcoholism and must work hard on a daily basis to stay recovered. However, I have become grateful for this fact because it enables me to reach a level of happiness, joy, and freedom that I would not have otherwise attained.
