Unity is the Gift

A secular AA member shares about his struggles, how service heals and how good it is to tear down borders that divide us

After years of having well-intentioned AA “fundamentalists” telling me I could not get sober without “getting on my knees” and asking God for help, I did not think it was possible for me to ever recover from alcoholism. However, I found help among AA members in the online community of secular persons in recovery. This group has given me tremendous assistance in staying sober. In fact, I do not believe that I’d still be sober if not for the remarkable support and encouragement I received from this online group.
