A former pro softball player learns to live all over again in the rooms of AA

I drank for 40 years and if I told you all about it your mind would shut down. I don't like to talk drunk-a-logs, so I will only hit on a few highlights. I'm not proud of what I did while I was drinking alcohol. I was a drunk existing to drink. I had lot that happened to me as child. Brother dying at four, two family suicides, uncle in the navy killed by friendly fire, and myself being sexually molested twice. My life was a real life soap opera with tragic overtones. My brother and I had a stepfather who would come home drunk and accuse us of spending his paycheck, put a gun to our mothers head and say:"If I can't have you, nobody else will."
