It’s my choice

I understand and appreciate that AA is not about religion. It’s about sobriety. My choice of a Higher Power is up to me, not AA or its members.

In June of 2007, I was out wandering the streets at 7 a.m., still drunk. Eventually I found myself on the doorstep of a homeless shelter. I realized the people inside followed a certain religion. I was not a fan of religion, having had a few bad experiences with it in the past.
