Climbing a mountain and keeping sober? Summit or sobriety, the goal is surely worth the effort

Mt. Bierstadt located in Colorado has an elevation of 14,063 feet above sea level. People from Colorado call any mountain over 14,000 feet a 14er. Mt. Bierstadt was the first 14er I climbed after moving to Colorado. Climbing any mountain gives you a lot of time to think. About two hours into my ascent, I realized there was a great deal of similarity between giving up drinking and climbing a 14er.
