Normally, he took the stairs—but something told him to wait for the elevator

I was at one of the two malls in my small coastal town in South Africa, Once I had completed my business at the drug store, I went to the elevator to the multi-storey car park where my vehicle was parked. A sign on one of the two elevators told me it was out of order, so I waited for the other. Now that alone was unusual because I usually never wait for elevators. I am a stairs man and the vehicle was only one flight up—but, for some reason, I waited for the elevator. After a long wait out of the elevator steps C, a member of our AA fellowship.
