Growing Up & Growing Older

I am 70 years old now. Today I wonder whether it’s not harder to grow old than to grow up. I could not have survived without the love and support of my AA friends.

I do not want to grow old without AA. Some days, I think I don’t even want to grow old at all, regardless of AA. But then I join a meeting or talk with an AA friend or read some words timeless and profound from our cofounder Bill W., and I feel that connection with life that I’m not yet ready to relinquish.
