I was raised in an alcoholic household. My father was an alcoholic and my mother should have been in Al-Anon. While I was growing up there was always a big elephant in our living room that no one ever talked about. Many times my father came home drunk. He did not help with household chores, he neglected family obligations and was sometimes verbally abusive.
