Just A Moment

On a Monday night in July 1996, I was doing the same thing I had been doing for several years—going to meetings and not drinking. Yet my life felt so dark and hopeless that it seemed as if God, if there was a God, was only concerned with keeping me in a constant state of suffering. I know today that was a delusion based on my being fear-driven and consumed with self. At the time, however, it was my reality.
