Through tears, fits, fear and phone calls, she held tight to her Higher Power and got sober in a pandemic

When 2020 started, I was full of hope and plans. But the second week of January, I had to have my leg amputated below the knee. I had been trying to grasp sobriety at this time, but this sent me spiraling deeper into my alcoholism. And if that was not all, as I was in the facility recovering from the surgery, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. They halted all visitation. Now I was really isolated.
