Sobriety Is Not Always A Straight Road

When I first came into AA, it was by far the top priority in my life. Realistically, I was looking at either jail or death if I continued on the path I’d been taking. I had been beaten down so hard by alcohol and drugs I was willing to do anything. I had been kicked out of high school, arrested three times for DUI’s, plus a fourth arrest for a petty theft offense, totaled and smashed up several cars and had three near-death experiences, all due to alcohol or drugs.
