Like many AA’s, he found an individual path to his Higher Power

I was raised by loving parents in a conservative religious setting. This setting provided a structure for having a relationship with God but left me with an “us and them” mentality. From my earliest exposure to religious belief as a child, I found it so odd how all those “others” could be so wrong and we were so right in our beliefs. Being a child, I went along for many years. I even followed those beliefs for a time at a small Bible Institute in the Phoenix area after high school.
