The Work of the Heart
AA has seven Class A (non-alcoholic) trustees. They provide AA with a critical perspective and, importantly, are able to do things our 14 Class B (alcoholic) trustees cannot do, such as addressing the media head-on or using their last names in public without violating the Traditions. We spoke recently with our Class A trustee Leslie Backus, who is CEO of an alcohol/substance abuse treatment center in Savannah, Georgia.
