Giving It Away

I have been clean and sober now for forty-three years and counting. It has been a life well worth living. My journey in the A.A. Fellowship started when I was twenty-two years old. I had reached the end of my rope, was too tired to continue existing as things were and just too scared to die. Heaven knows, I tried to end my life, but, when the attempt failed, I woke up looking into the eyes of my two cats. I figured I might as well try to go on with life. Thinking if I wasn’t here, who would take care of them? So I trudged and slogged onward.
