At his first meeting, Tradition Three spoke his name loud and clear

I got to AA with a nudge from a judge. In May 1997, I drove drunk—not for the first time—but that time I didn’t make it home. The police report said my car was doing approximately 120 mph, the ambulance report said I was barely alive and the hospital report said I had to be strapped to a gurney for four hours before they could treat me because I was in a drunken rage.
