Old-Timer, New Town

I have been sober over 34 years and I have moved three times during my sobriety. Once when I had three months sober, to Phoenix, Arizona, from a small town in Illinois. I went from having one-two meetings a week to having a whole book of meetings to attend—there was only one hour in the day when there wasn’t a meeting to go to in the whole week. This revelation was amazing and kept me deep in AA for eight years, until I had gone through the Steps several times and recovered from my wreckage and learned to thrive in AA and in life.
